MyGolf Schools
The MyGolf schools’ program aims to introduce golf to school children through simple, FUN and engaging program offerings that teachers can easily deliver as part of their core curriculum requirements, even if they don’t have any experience playing or teaching golf.
There are 3 types of programs schools can select from:
1. Mini Golf (F-8)
A fun, easy and safe way for teachers to introduce their students to the sport of golf. This 4-lesson program focuses on putting and requires minimal equipment to deliver. It’s super easy to run indoors or out!
2. Pitch & Putt (Years 3-8)
A slight progression from Mini Golf, giving the students the opportunity to feel the joy of seeing the ball fly in the air through pitching and chipping. A 4-lesson program that can still be delivered in a relatively small space, with many of the activities requiring minimal set up and equipment.
3. Swing It (Years 3-8)
This program includes a variety of games and activities which can be run in various settings to introduce students to putting, chipping and full swing. The program can be run across 5 lessons, the final culminating in an on-course experience either at school, or at the local golf facility.
Sporting Schools
Schools can book a MyGolf Primary or Secondary program through Sporting Schools. Sporting Schools grants are offered every school term and the funds can be used by schools to run teacher-delivered programs or engage external coaches (accredited PGA Professionals or MyGolf Deliverer), purchase equipment, complete online teacher training and to visit local sporting clubs and facilities. If schools register their interest in golf when applying for a Sporting Schools grant and are successful in gaining funding, your state/territory program coordinator will make contact to assist you with the booking process. The structure and number of sessions offered through Sporting Schools can be flexible depending on the type of programs schools would like to deliver.
